Meet Becca Love
My Story
Birth has been an interest and passion of mine for many years! While in college, I found myself diving into the world of “natural, physiologic” birth and fell in love! I was able to land a nursing job in Labor and Delivery and start working in my dream area. I knew going into this job I may face some pushback to my views on birth, but I was surprised by just how hard this mindset towards birth and a woman’s ability to birth without medical intervention was to uphold within the confines of the hospital medical system. I loved being involved in so many birth stories, but between feeling morally/ethically conflicted by “normal” hospital-birth practices and longing for a deeper connection with women I cared for, I was led to leave the hospital. After the birth of my first child (an amazing homebirth!) I left hospital nursing to pursue doula work. As a doula, I love being able to support women through their WHOLE pregnancy (as well as postpartum), teaching that you DO have choices in your care and how you give birth.
In my free time I enjoy spending LOTS of time with my now toddler Grace and baby boy Rusty, experimenting with sourdough bread and other baking, listening to audiobooks and podcasts (so many birth podcasts!), thrifting, going to the farmers market, spending time with friends, family and my church community and traveling!
My Values and Philosophy
I love being able to support women through their WHOLE pregnancy journey (as well as postpartum), teaching that you DO have choices in your care and how you give birth and providing education so you can choose the best plans for your needs and desires! I am passionate about sharing the beauty and power God places within a woman’s mind, body and soul when it comes to bringing new life into this world. I believe childbirth is an inherently natural process for our bodies and minds to go through which, when left undisturbed, requires little to no outside intervention for success. I aim to help you discover confidence and strength within yourself, to harness your strengths and calm your worries. While this is what I believe, I know that is not what everyone chooses or is able to do (i.e. if you are diagnosed with a complication requiring medical assistance or simply make an informed choice to add an intervention to your story), and that is 100% okay! I hope to help you navigate ALL of your choices so you can decide what you do and don’t want to bring into your birth experience. You deserve to take control of your birth experience and I would love to be there by your side to help you on that journey.
I have grown up in the christian church and would love to offer faith-based support to those who share these values as well!
